Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

Currently completing plant maintenance and business as usual jobs. Involves fixing errors, restarts and server cleaning. Will be getting involved in project work in the near future.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
Very enjoyable with interesting work. Have time to socialise with colleagues and created relationships with many.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

Learnt a lot of soft skills such as communication and teamwork. Also, learnt a lot in college including scientific and mathematical concepts. Had a lot of hands on experience in work.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

Well organised. Full time role with college being delivered in three week blocks. A lot of benefits to this but one drawback is that I don’t see my tutors very often
How much support do you receive from your employer?

A lot of support is provided and I know if I ask for more it will be given.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
A lot of support, have weekly tutorials where we meet and fill in any knowledge gaps within the course.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

Learning engineering concepts that will be useful when doing project work. Especially working with PLCs in college as that is a big part of my role
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

5-aside football on site and many social events to get involved with other apprentices.

Very supportive and a huge company so you can be a big fish in a big pond. Multitude of opportunities.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to AstraZeneca?
It takes a while to get your head around things so don’t stress if it doesn’t come naturally straight away
