Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
Learning about the ethos of NatWest, its corporate environment, and some of the products and services NatWest provides. This includes at least 2-3 sessions / training workshops per week.
Two out of the five days of the working week, we have time to take part in a business improvement project, and a similar amount of time to get involved in a CSR project.
For the other three days, we work in Internal Audit, shadowing audits, learning about the internal audit processes, or, in later weeks, actually getting involved in audit work

In later weeks of the internship, I've been given more responsibility, including getting involved in internal audit work for myself. Early in the internship, I wasn't given much responsibility

Generally, quite a lot in terms of getting to know NatWest and through several training sessions over the course of the internship. But not so much guidance or support for the actual audit work, but still enough

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
Very positive. People are very kind and helpful if you ask for assistance. More senior members of the business are open and willing to help. And the bank's ethos seems to be in the right place

Overall Experience
To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
I have enjoyed the internship so far. I had a lot to do in later weeks of the internship, but I still never felt a pressure to work more than 9-5. Work-life balance seems very good.
