Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
I am an IT Cluster Manager responsible for overseeing the technology operations across four academies in Manchester. My role ensures that all IT systems, infrastructure, and services run smoothly and securely to support teaching and learning.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I have really enjoyed my programme, particularly the networking modules. I found the hands on elements most engaging because they allowed me to apply theoretical knowledge in real world scenarios. Working with physical hardware and configuring networks gave me a deeper understanding of how systems operate and strengthened my problem solving skills. Overall, the practical experience has been the highlight of my learning journey.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
Yes, I have learned several new skills during my programme. One of the key areas I developed was cloud computing, which gave me a strong understanding of cloud platforms, virtualisation, and how to manage resources in a cloud environment. In addition, I strengthened my existing networking skills, particularly in configuring and troubleshooting network devices, managing security, and ensuring reliable connectivity. These skills have enhanced my ability to support and implement modern IT solutions effectively.
