Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
My role within the academy I assist involves helping students, staff and teachers with day to day tech problems, such as helping them navigate the school's systems, setting up or assisting with iPads, dealing with computers and laptops which have problems and advising people how to work some of their devices, among other duties.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I find it a nice work environment most the time, it is well appreciated that a lot of the people I speak with, from colleagues to school staff and pupils are typically quite friendly and polite. I also am happy to partake in the work, it's fun to learn some of the stuff that goes on and I am glad to help people with their problems

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I have most definitely learnt new skills, I have gotten familiar with a range of different tools, sites, hardware, software and personal skills and have developed a lot in my time here

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
I have good things to say about the programme here, QA and Oasis have a good overall programme which I feel has taught me a lot.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
I think that my manager and the trust itself is very accommodating to the needs I have to complete my course comfortably and in my day to day work experience
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
QA are a good organisation for the opportunity, I feel like they've really helped me in this matter and I'm thankful for their assistance.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
I think the help they've provided has been very noticeable in my performance and knowledge here.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
2/5
There may be opportunities for me to partake in these sorts of activities, but I am unaware of them, or even where to find them. As far as I know, the only thing to partake in as far as professional networking events go would be the 1 time per year IT conference.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend Oasis Community Learning to a friend?
Yes
Why?
So far it's been a good experience, the people are nice, the work is decent and I've learnt a fair bit while here.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Oasis Community Learning?
I would suggest that other applicants that they have their DBS checked and smart-casual clothes that they are comfortable in. The dress code is fortunately quite relaxed but do their best to represent the trust properly.
