Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

My role includes answering phone calls and emails, providing teachers and pupils with the resources they need for the day. I also help parents out with any queries they have at school drop off or collection.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I thoroughly enjoy my program and I feel I have learnt so much since starting. All my colleagues are supportive and help me to achieve my goals and the workload is challenging but stimulating!
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have learnt and developed so many different skills including how to make labels and posters, deal with different safeguarding and safety procedures, I have become a qualified first aider and also learnt how to communicate professionally with external and internal stakeholders.

I think that my programme is very organised and structured. I get support and help whenever I need it and I can always ask for a lesser workload if I struggle
How much support do you receive from your employer?

I receive endless support. I always get asked if they can help in any way and they always offer extra support inside and outside of work.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

My training provider is very helpful. She always goes over the modules and assignments in great detail and gives me a full rundown of what I need to do to achieve my qualifications to reach my goal.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

My qualification helps me perform better in my role as I am learning more and more about the type of organisation I am working in everyday. Each module is very informative and links to what I am doing in my daily work routine.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

My organisation always offers great opportunities to get involved and voice our opinions of how we can improve the school and learning for our pupils. As it is coming towards Christmas my workplace has organised a Christmas dinner for staff as a night out and plenty of outside of work activities to help create deeper bonds and relationships.

I would recommend to a friend as I believe it is a great place to work if you want to feel supported and create good relationships as well as learning new skills and developing a good work life balance.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Oasis Community Learning?
I would tell them to go into it open minded and with a positive attitude. Make the most out of every opportunity you're given, have fun and always put the children first.
