R&D Process Student (Placement) Review

I was working with a large range of departments, mainly within the R&D sector.
Over the time on my placement I have interacted with welcoming people who were always providing help in every way I have asked them to.
It was a perfect balance of understanding the foundations of how Pirelli's tyres are developed and how much pride comes from each department striving for perfection.
I was on a 50/50 balance of being on the manufacturing floor and within the office-based environment.
Fantastic Placement oportunty for any undergraduate to gain the basic understanding of theory and practical on hands experience.

As I have gained critical understanding into my role, I have gained the trust of my co-workers whom allowed me to take responsibility for my projects and their outcomes. I was treated as an employee by the end of my placement, as I became fully integrated into my position/role.

Initially, within the first few months of the placement, we have received appropriate training and initial understanding of how the manufacturing factory operates.
As well as any support we have required throughout our placement was accessible and easy to reach out to!

A hard-working environment within my office, always looking to excel and not fall behind on projects. Daily meetings to ensure we are prepared for the current week and the next week upcoming to spot any possible threats early on and rectify them as soon as possible.
Very welcoming people, who always look out for each other and each department. This is critical, as the relationships within the different departments need to be quite strong, and they always need to provide a helping hand in any scenario.

I LOVED MY PLACEMENT! This was the perfect placement for myself, as it helped me evolve further in my egineering carrer. I have gained so much confidence in accepting responsibility for my actions and in presenting in front of managers of the projects I have undertaken and being transparent with the positive impacts they have made within some manufacturing/quality areas.
