Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
It involved the following:
-Reporting of purchasing activities
-Assisting with invoicing queries and pricing corrections
-Dealing with new and existing suppliers
-Onboarding new suppliers
-Purchasing activities for the stores
-Dealing with contracts with suppliers
-Overall admin support for the team

Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
Yes. I was really taken back on how much responsibility they gave me as a placement student, in a good way. I had a horrible feeling it would be, you are there for a year and giving the minimum amount of tasks. They had me involved in a lot of work and projects and treated me like one of the employees rather than just a 'student' on a placement year.

Overall Experience
To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
Brilliant place to have a placement. Treated like any other employee, a lot of responsibility and chances to develop myself. I enjoyed the network of people I got to meet within my time at the Purchasing team and the skills it developed for my future career.
