Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
When I first began my degree apprenticeship, I had the opportunity to collaborate with a variety of teams, which gave me valuable insight into the different roles within my business area. My day-to-day work included contributing to a CO₂ emissions campaign, partnering with HR to produce an office video, and supporting the CSR team on several initiatives. Since transitioning from an apprentice into my current role, my responsibilities have become more structured. I now focus primarily on managing and executing tasks within Salesforce Marketing Cloud, where I work on campaigns and processes on a daily basis.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I truly enjoyed the programme, as it provided me with invaluable lessons and opportunities that shaped both my personal and professional growth. I believe I developed significantly during my time as an apprentice, which prepared me to transition confidently into my current role as a Marketing Technology Specialist. Beyond the skills and experience, the people I worked with made a lasting difference I’ve built great friendships and had the privilege of learning from inspirational colleagues who have played a key role in shaping my career.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I have recently developed new skills that have enhanced both my creativity and project management abilities. Learning to use Salesforce Marketing Cloud has given me the opportunity to showcase my creativity through targeted campaigns and innovative solutions. In addition, I have strengthened my stakeholder management skills, working on projects with defined timeframes and delivering high‑value content that is shared across the business or used in events and training sessions.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
It was exceptionally well organised by my managers, who did a phenomenal job arranging sessions with various colleagues across the business to meet myself and the other apprentices. They facilitated valuable mentoring opportunities and created space for us to build confidence by presenting our ideas to senior leaders.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
I received incredible support from my line manager, career coach, and apprentice team. Without their guidance and encouragement, I don’t believe I would have achieved the success of graduating with a first in my degree.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
I received tremendous support during my final-year dissertation and throughout my apprenticeship. My manager not only granted me study leave but also encouraged me to seek help, ensuring that team members were available to review my work and provide valuable advice.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
The training at UEL was useful, but I found that I gained far more practical skills and day-to-day knowledge through my workplace experience. The tasks I worked on in the business environment provided me with hands-on learning that I could immediately apply to my role.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
The social activities I experienced while working were fantastic. I had the opportunity to attend a 30th anniversary celebration, countless Christmas parties, and meaningful events organized through our RESPECT Group. There was always something happening socially, which made the experience even more enjoyable and engaging!
