Overall, how would you describe your experience at Mace?
Overall its been a great and rewarding experience. The opportunities and the culture really help you to thrive if you are willing to work and put in the effort. Everyone around you is so knowledge about the role and always happy to help.
I was thrown into a project my first week at Mace, giving me exposure to a lot of aspects of the job quickly, giving me responsibilities and helping me grow my confidence to face contractors and clients alike. It is never a dull day as a QS for Mace.

What are the main responsibilities of the role and which elements of the role do you enjoy the most?
1st Project:
Cost reporting
Variation reviews and agreement discussions with Contractor (My favourite)
Updating trackers and saving info in files
Valuations Monthly and monthly site walks
Final account discussions
Benchmarking
2nd Project:
Cost reports
AFP's (Multiple contracts every month)
CE's review and agreements / Measuring Qty's
Final account discussions
Advising on contractual matters
Cost updates every week to client and team
Evaluation of tender returns and tender report production (My favourite)
Budget estimates and estimating
Cost reporting

When considering the recruitment & onboarding process, have you any specific tips or advice you would give to others applying to Mace?
Throw yourself into it 100%. The amount you can learn from your team and others in the business can be invaluable. The recruitment is good and i have no comments on that
