MEP Engineer Review

My experience at Mace has been incredibly positive. The Graduate Scheme provided a strong foundation, introducing me to the role and equipping me with the necessary training to succeed. Over time, I’ve had the opportunity to deepen my expertise in both MEP systems and sustainability, which has been invaluable for my professional development. The supportive environment and exposure to diverse projects have helped me grow my skills and confidence significantly.

The main responsibilities of my role have included both sustainability and MEP work. I’ve been involved in a range of tasks that support environmental performance and building services design, contributing to project delivery and compliance with sustainability standards.
What I’ve enjoyed most is the building physics aspect of the role particularly working with IESVE. It’s been rewarding to develop my skills in dynamic thermal modelling and environmental analysis, and I’ve found this area both technically engaging and impactful in shaping sustainable design outcomes.

My role gives me meaningful opportunities to contribute and feel valued by my team. I’m trusted with responsibilities that allow me to take ownership of tasks and actively support project delivery. This trust has helped me grow professionally and feel like a key part of the team. I’ve especially appreciated being given space to develop my skills and contribute to both sustainability and MEP workstreams in a way that aligns with my strengths and interests.

I feel that my compensation package fairly reflects the work I do. Earning at the industry average has provided financial stability and reassurance that my role is valued appropriately. The additional perks and benefits offered by Mace have also supported my overall wellbeing and professional growth, making the package well-rounded and beneficial.

I feel the role is preparing me very well for my future career. It’s helping me build well-rounded skills that are essential for success in the industry, particularly in sustainability and MEP. Mace has also supported my development through chartership schemes and clear progression routes, which are important for long-term growth. Additionally, I’ve been able to access training tailored to my role, allowing me to deepen my expertise in areas like building physics and environmental modelling.

Line manager support is excellent and have really allowed me to develop my skillset and goals overtime.

My work life balance is quite good, I am allowed to adapt flexible working and also balance it out with work socials.

General atmosphere is very positive.
