BAU tasks such as KPI analysis and excel modelling. Wider bank networking to display leadership qualities. Frequent feedback with line manager on BAU tasks. Joining online training sessions and in-persons meeting. Joining town halls for department as well as organisation as a whole.

I had oversight over areas where I saw improvements could be made internally and offered them as recommendations upon review. So not a lot of responsibility as I did not actually pick up client related requests or tasks. Mostly dealt with internal stakeholders.

Yes I developed a wider network across the Bank, with a diverse range of fields and backgrounds covered. I was also able to further refine my Excel skills by building a dashboard presentation with an interactive front-end for stakeholders to replicate with any internal data. I would also say that I developed good consciousness of due process with the bank.

At least twice a week, we would have time booked in with my line manager to catch up which was helpful. The line manager also facilitated a smooth ice breaker for interns to meet the team. This was great as we got to receive support when others were available. Additionally, it was part pf the culture to treat interns with friendliness and respect.

It was fun! Lots of young graduates werenon the floor too. Many were of high calibre and a huge influence from people’s attitude towards learning. One of the main values that people had shown was Excellence. I met many that did really well in their jobs. It was also very diverse. This was supplemented by the many events put in place for people to meet each other and connect. I met many people whilst participating in events such as Afro Carribean Day or Office Summer Festival for example. Many of the graduates also led the GAIN network which provided a lot of opportunities for the young professionals/early careers intake.

I enjoyed it very much and would recommend it to anyone who is interested.
