Joining the Explorer Graduate Programme at Barclays has been truly foundational for my early career. The programme's unique structure gave me the opportunity to rotate through different teams and work with diverse tech stacks, which was invaluable in helping me explore my interests and discover where I truly fit within the technology landscape.

What really set this experience apart was the people. From day one, I had a supportive line manager and team who helped me throughout. Whenever I encountered challenges or felt stuck, there was always someone ready to help me piece things together. This collaborative environment made me feel welcomed and valued, even as a newcomer to the industry.

The comprehensive onboarding training provided me with the functional knowledge I needed to hit the ground running, giving me confidence as I embarked on real projects. Throughout the programme, I've had the chance to experiment with various technologies including .NET, SQL, Java and Python across different projects, which has significantly broadened my technical skillset.

Beyond the day-to-day work, I've also had the opportunity to be part of the graduate and apprentice community. This network has given me the chance to connect with leaders across the company and learn from their experiences and insights, which has been incredibly enriching both personally and professionally.
