At Barclays, Apprenticeships are a practical way to start or restart your career.

Whether you're just out of school, returning to work, or changing direction, we’ll support you with proper training, a permanent role, and the chance to grow.

From your first day, you’ll be earning a salary, working towards a recognised qualification (up to degree level), and doing real work — like speaking to customers, learning how payments are processed, or helping teams stay organised. You’ll be part of a team, surrounded by people who want you to succeed.

Apprenticeships

If you’ve got GCSEs or National 5s, our Apprenticeships give you a clear, practical route into full-time work. Over two years, you’ll earn a salary, gain a recognised qualification, and learn while doing, all while being treated like any other Barclays colleague from day one. It’s a straightforward way to build your skills, your confidence, and your future.

Highlights

• Level 3 or 4 Apprenticeships where you'll work towards the equivalent of 2 A Levels or 2 Highers – the perfect blend of study and on-the-job learning
• A programme that lasts a maximum of 2 years, giving you plenty of opportunity to build a career
• A hands-on, permanent role with a competitive salary of £25,200 from day one
• A dedicated programme support manager carefully selected to suit your needs as an individual, ensuring you have all the support you need
• We offer a hybrid working model, so you can thrive in our world-class offices from Glasgow to Radbroke Hall, as well as working from home
• A programme that's open to anyone, from any background. For roles in the UK, you just need to be at least 16 years of age and have GCSEs or National 5s.

Higher and Degree or Graduate apprenticeships

With A-Levels or Highers, you can earn a salary, gain experience, and work towards a university-level qualification, all at the same time. Our Higher and Degree or Graduate Apprenticeships run for up to four years and give you the tools to grow your skills and confidence.

You’ll learn on the job, get support from experienced teams, and take big steps toward a career you can be proud of, all while getting paid from day one.

• A programme that’s open to anyone, from any background. For roles in the UK, you just need the right qualifications for the programme, usually A Levels or equivalent (Highers in Scotland)
