Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
Currently sat in the residential investment team at CBRE, after completing 3 years of rotations throughout different teams. My role includes a good amount of responsibility: client meetings, reports, development appraisals, setting up data rooms, comparable searches, involved with deals. Working to deadlines is key.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
3/5
I enjoyed the degree apprenticeship programme, albeit it was hard work having to write assignments and have a full time job at the same time. CBRE give 1 day a week for study leave, however normal work tasks tended to take over this day so it was a struggle for me. Overall, I am glad I did this pathway to secure my degree because I have 3 years of experience over people just leaving university with no experience.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
Being an apprentice and only having one previous job in sales, I have learnt a considerable amount over the past 3 years. I am still learning everyday in a very fast paced industry.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
Fairly well structured, 1 day of study leave per week.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
Received lots of support as and when I needed it. I used to ask people in the office for help with assignments/guidance which aided me alot. I am now working towards my APC in the next 6 months and I receive lots of support from seniors in the office.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
Working towards the APC, we have a councellor in the Birmingham office who we meet with monthly. He provides plenty of structure. We have considerable support.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
3/5
I am yet to qualify so I am unable to answer.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
The social scene at CBRE is very good. We tend to have socials once a week, allowing a good rapport between colleagues. RICS also put on networking events in Birmingham which we join.
