Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
During my apprenticeship in the Business Analysis team, I had the opportunity to work alongside a number of experienced Business Analysts. This hands on experience allowed me to develop a strong foundation in business analysis by learning new skills and supporting the team with day to day tasks. I gained valuable insights into project workflows, stakeholder communication, and data analysis, all of which have contributed to my professional growth. It was a rewarding experience that helped me build confidence and practical knowledge in a collaborative environment.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I’ve absolutely loved my apprenticeship! It’s genuinely the best thing I’ve ever done. I’ve met some incredible people along the way, learned so much, and grown both professionally and personally. I couldn’t recommend it enough!

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
Yes, I’ve learned a range of new skills and strengthened existing ones. I’ve developed core business analysis techniques like process mapping, requirements gathering, stakeholder engagement, and using tools such as Excel, Power BI, and JIRA. It’s been a great opportunity to grow both technically and professionally.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
The programme has been really well structured. I spent one day a week on campus at university and the remaining four days gaining hands-on experience at work. This balance allowed me to apply what I was learning in real time and made the whole experience both practical and engaging.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
I’ve received a great level of support from my employer throughout the programme. Whether it’s guidance from my manager, help from colleagues, or access to training and resources, there’s always been someone to turn to when I’ve needed it.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
I’ve received good support from my university as my training provider. They’ve been consistently helpful with academic guidance, feedback, and resources.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
My university degree has been a great complement to my role. Alongside business analysis, it’s also covered broader areas of computer science such as software development, databases, and systems design. This wider understanding has helped me approach tasks with a more technical perspective and contribute more effectively to the team.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
Yes, there are plenty of extra curricular activities to get involved in at work. From social events and professional networking to volunteering opportunities, which are actively encouraged, it is a great environment for building connections, giving back, and growing beyond your day to day role.
