Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.

My role included shadowing colleagues in my team, working on research and data analysis for my long-term project. I also co-ordinated meetings with different stakeholders and networked with people from across the business area.

Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?

I was given the responsibility to carry out my project and do a presentation, but did not directly work on any of the team's live projects. This was a good way for me to build skills but I wish there was more integration with what my team were doing.

Lots of support and guidance from my manager and the rest of the team. Everyone answered all my questions and were really happy to help.

Company Culture

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?

Good culture. At first, it was slightly isolating as people stuck to their own team bubbles. I didn't feel comfortable talking to people whom I hadn't met or didn't work in my business area because they kept to themselves and were quite cold. However, those whom I had been introduced to were extremely nice and welcoming - particularly the graduates and apprentices.
