Overview of the Role

Overall, how would you describe your experience at Frazer-Nash Consultancy?
I've thoroughly enjoyed my first 18 months at Frazer-Nash. My team and wider colleagues are supportive and willing to help in any way they can. The work is demanding, but rewarding, and the company offer many benefits in addition to a good salary. I was part of the Grad scheme activities even though I'd come from doing a Doctorate. FNC still wanted me to be part of all the activities grads usually do, to get to know people and be part of more social occasions.
What are the main responsibilities of the role and which elements of the role do you enjoy the most?
In my role, I work on many different projects as both a technical and project management capacity. I've led projects with values up to £250k, and been technical lead for metallics of a project for a Defence client. I'm free to get on with my work and trusted that I will seek help when I need it. I'm not micromanaged.
To what extent does your role give you the opportunity to contribute meaningfully and feel valued by your team?
5/5
Very much so.
How does your compensation package - including perks & benefits - fairly remunerate you for the work you do?
5/5
Yes, it's excellent in my opinion.
How well do you feel the role is preparing you for your future career?
5/5
The company provides funding and time for CPD opportunities, conferences and networking events. They are very supportive of opportunities to expand your knowledge and have helped me become chartered.
How would you rate the extent to which you were developing new or existing skills through formal training and your day-to-day role?
5/5
As above. In addition, each project I work on is different, which allows me to learn new things and work in different areas.

Experience & Company Culture

How is the support you receive?
5/5
Support is very good. I have weekly team meetings where I can ask for support if needed, and I also have a monthly 1-2-1 with my line manager, which is more in depth. All the team helped me when I started, and a senior colleague has given me lots of support in applying for chartership.
How is your work-life balance?
4/5
The work load can sometimes be very high due to the nature of the job. It wouldn't be for everyone, but I enjoy being busy and work better when I'm stressed to a certain amount. We're encouraged to take rest days after very demanding deliverables or busy periods.
What is the organisational culture, values and general atmosphere like?
5/5
I usually work from home due to the distance between my house and the office. The office are very supportive and provide everything needed to work from home. We are allowed to prioritise family life to a certain extent when needed.
How would you rate Frazer-Nash Consultancy initiatives when it comes to equality, diversity, inclusion and accessibility?
5/5
How would you rate Frazer-Nash Consultancy CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) initiatives?
4/5
FNC supports my volunteering outside of work and will give me leave at short notice if I require it for emergencies or critical incidents (volunteering in blue light services). The company is aware of environmental and societal issues, which is fed in to proposals for the work we do for clients.

Would you recommend Frazer-Nash Consultancy to a friend?
Yes
Why?
I love working here, I can't think of any negatives and I've been here 18 months.
How well did the role match your expectations based on the recruitment process?
5/5
I knew as much as I could about the role before I joined. I had two, 2-hour interviews which gave me lots of opportunity to ask questions.
When considering the recruitment & onboarding process, have you any specific tips or advice you would give to others applying to Frazer-Nash Consultancy?
Be honest and stand out from the crowd. Don't be afraid to show others what you do in your spare time and what makes you unique.
