Overall, how would you describe your experience at American Express?
I really enjoy my role at American Express, working in such a big company you are exposed to various teams. Development is a huge part of the culture and you are encouraged to spend time meeting new people and finding out about other roles to broaden your understanding of how the company works holistically.
What are the main responsibilities of the role and which elements of the role do you enjoy the most?
I completed a 10 week internship, a year in a graduate role and now a year in a full time role. My main responsibilities have been managing regulatory projects and marketing projects. I mostly enjoy the project management side of the roles, seeing a project through to the end to see the results and the impact I have had on colleagues and card members.
To what extent does your role give you the opportunity to contribute meaningfully and feel valued by your team?

The culture at Amex is focused on development, if you voice where you want to develop, your team will do everything they can to support this and provide the opportunities.
How does your compensation package - including perks & benefits - fairly remunerate you for the work you do?

I mostly value the food provided when we come to the office, the onsite gym and onsite doctors appoitments when we need them.
How well do you feel the role is preparing you for your future career?

I can see my career continuing with Amex, the culture is to network and learn.
How would you rate the extent to which you were developing new or existing skills through formal training and your day-to-day role?

In my experience, my roles have focused more on on-the-job training rather than formal training. However, I'm sure if I asked for formal training, they would be able to support this.

How is the support you receive?

At Amex you can receive as little or as much support depending on what you require. If you want to be left to do your role, that is fine but if you want to actively reach out to colleagues for a mentor or a buddy, this can be facilitated.
How is your work-life balance?

In my experience, many people stick to 9-5 and there is no requirement to stay later.
