Software Engineer Review

During my role I was involved in backend development, unit testing, automation testing, API stubbing/testing as well plenty of documentation and investigation work.
The actual role as a software engineer would cover Design, Development and Testing however, the tasks and areas you work in will vary depending on the team and what part of the business you are placed in.

Yes. Not so much at the start but that makes sense as there’s a lot to take in. However, about half way through I basically felt like a full time employee there.

Technically I learnt a lot about automation testing, and proper practices for writing code, as well as a bit of work using design patterns.
Otherwise I would say I built my confidence in my own abilities a lot more as a developer. Additionally I naturally became a lot stronger at communicating with others, especially when giving presentations.

On my first day I was assigned a mentor within the team, which was really helpful in getting started but overall everyone was super helpful inside my team and would always find time to guide and assist me where possible.

Solid, quite a busy office but everyone was friendly and approachable.

I really enjoyed it. I think the best bit was being a part of a team who all functioned and collaborated together really well.
