Overview of the Role

Overall, how would you describe your experience at NatWest Group?
It's been positive and professionally rewarding. The scheme offers strong exposure to real business challenges, meaningful project work and a supportive culture that values personal growth. Leadership are approachable, and there's genuine focus on development through training (DataCamp, Udacity, Workday) and mentorship. Workload can vary by experience, rotation but expectations are clear and manageable.
What are the main responsibilities of the role and which elements of the role do you enjoy the most?
I’ve completed three placements so far, covering data science, analytics, and engineering. In Climate Risk Modelling, I worked on Python models and analysis to assess climate risks. In the Commercial & Institutional team, I focused on stakeholder requests, Snowflake SQL, and Tableau dashboards. I’m now in an engineering-focused role where I build and deploy data pipelines, create Airflow DAGs, and automate processes in Snowflake.
What I enjoy most is seeing how the technical work supports real business outcomes, especially when solutions I’ve built go live. The variety, hands-on learning, and collaborative culture make the experience really rewarding.
