Overall, how would you describe your experience at NatWest Group?
Positive
What are the main responsibilities of the role and which elements of the role do you enjoy the most?
I have done a rotation in Data Analysis, Data Science and Machine Learning Engineering. You can also do Data Engineering and Decisioning Science. Mainly coding, building and productionising models.
To what extent does your role give you the opportunity to contribute meaningfully and feel valued by your team?

Depends on the team - in my current team I am contributing meaningfully. This has varied between rotations
How does your compensation package - including perks & benefits - fairly remunerate you for the work you do?

I am happy. I think other banks pay more for similar roles but the culture and work life balance here is excellent. They also train and upskill us a lot
How well do you feel the role is preparing you for your future career?

Again, depends on your placement but generally people want to provide you with excellent training and meaningful work and experience
How would you rate the extent to which you were developing new or existing skills through formal training and your day-to-day role?

Changes with placement but I have been given lots of tasks that are developing new skills. I think the opportunities are they if you put effort into taking them

Buddy - excellent support
HR / Programme leads - could be improved. I think especially the roll off process and communcation about placement changes has been poor

How is your work-life balance?

Generally, people work their set hours and not outside of these. I feel very supported and Natwest puts effort into this
What is the organisational culture, values and general atmosphere like?

Things like offering paternity leave I think is a realy big plus and more people should do it. Recently I feel there is less interest in supporting things like pride and diversity (less willing to support visas) but this is just my interpretation

The culture is excellent. Both in terms of friendliness and supportiveness but also in giving you skills for future career.

Exceeded expectations. I think they could have done a better job at advertising all their perks and how interesting the programme would be

It used to be link absolutely everything to the values and CPCs (critical people capabilities) - now I guess the behaviours?
