Overview of the Role

Overall, how would you describe your experience at American Express?
Fantastic - it is a brilliant company to work for. The graduate program is focused on developing your skills in an operational environment and ensures you are ready for a manager position after just 18 months. There is lots of support and progression available and a brilliant company culture.
What are the main responsibilities of the role and which elements of the role do you enjoy the most?
Rotational Program - four rotations across different areas of Global Servicing, including operational, business strategy and regulatory business functions.
Operational rotation - supporting with uplifting vulnerable customer servicing and applying consumer duty regulations. Involved working on the leadership team for front-line servicing teams and creating a training program that was delivered to 100+ front-line colleagues.
Regulatory rotation - working in the anti-money laundering team to process map their regulatory processes. A more strategic, project based rotation that developed my skills in the behind the scenes of operations.
To what extent does your role give you the opportunity to contribute meaningfully and feel valued by your team?
4/5
Graduate rotations are based on business-critical projects - the work is meaningful and enables you to drive positive business impact. You are a valued member of both the graduate team and your individual, project teams.
How does your compensation package - including perks & benefits - fairly remunerate you for the work you do?
5/5
Fantastic compensation package - better paid than most other graduate programs. Eligible for a sign on bonus and annual performance bonus. Private healthcare, dental insurance and free food in the office!
How well do you feel the role is preparing you for your future career?
5/5
Really well - progression and development is central to the graduate program. The program is designed to fast track you to your next promotion - a manager role.
How would you rate the extent to which you were developing new or existing skills through formal training and your day-to-day role?
5/5
I am constantly developing new and existing skills through my day-to-day role and formal trainings.

Experience & Company Culture

How is the support you receive?

The support is fantastic and I feel really well supported at work - I have a grad team (consistening of two managers) who I meet with weekly as well as my project manager who I work with daily. Alongside that I have a VP mentor who I meet with to discuss career development and a manager mentor assigned to me. I also have a fellow graduate buddy and have made my own mentor/buddy connections during my experience.
How is your work-life balance?
4/5
Good work life balance - not expected to work beyond my normal working hours. Flexible, hybrid working policy.
