Overview of the Role

Overall, how would you describe your experience at JLR?
I've thoroughly enjoyed working at JLR. It's a great company to work for as it really cares for its employees, their well being and also their career growth,
What are the main responsibilities of the role and which elements of the role do you enjoy the most?
I have completed two rotations so far (in MarTech which is in the CX area of Commercial, and in the Overseas Sales Team) and I have had a great experience in both of these roles. Having the opportunity to rotate into different teams has really helped me grow both personally and professionally and is something that I don't take for granted.
To what extent does your role give you the opportunity to contribute meaningfully and feel valued by your team?
5/5
As a graduate who is new to the company - I have been entrusted with a good degree of responsibility and I've have had the opportunity to take on my own projects which has really made me feel valued.
How does your compensation package - including perks & benefits - fairly remunerate you for the work you do?
5/5
I think the compensation package is generous, especially as it is my first proper job coming out of university. I feel like I am well remunerated for the workload that I have.
How well do you feel the role is preparing you for your future career?
5/5
JLR really care about my career growth and my career development. Having the opportunity to move around the company has helped me know what direction I might want to take in my career, and JLR also invest in their employees by giving them the opportunity to undertake various training programs and certifications. For example, I have just started my Yellow Belt training certificate which is a very valuable tool to have under your belt.
How would you rate the extent to which you were developing new or existing skills through formal training and your day-to-day role?
5/5
I would rate it highly. As previously mentioned - JLR offer many opportunities for personal and professional development through multiple certificates and training courses which I have definitely made the most of.

Experience & Company Culture

How is the support you receive?
5/5
I have been very well supported. As a graduate I have been assigned a grad buddy with whom I have monthly check ins. I also have frequent meetings with my manager who has been very helpful and has provided good advice and mentorship throughout my first year in the company.
How is your work-life balance?
5/5
I think the company offers a really good work life balance. We are encouraged to have well being walks throughout the day, and every Friday I am encouraged to take a couple hours out of my day to learn a new skill, and focus on myself.
What is the organisational culture, values and general atmosphere like?
5/5
JLR has a great atmosphere. Everyone is very welcoming and inclusive which has made my first year here amazing!
How would you rate JLR initiatives when it comes to equality, diversity, inclusion and accessibility?
5/5
JLR has many networks that you can join which is a great way to connect with likeminded people. Women in Engineering is one that many people I know have joined and have only said good things about.
How would you rate JLR CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) initiatives?
5/5
JLR offers many opportunities to volunteer. For example, my team and I are helping rebuild some fences at a nearby farm which is one of the many CSR initiatives that I have had the opportunity to partake in.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend JLR to a friend?
Yes
Why?
I think JLR is a great company to work for as they really care for their employees and their professional growth.
How well did the role match your expectations based on the recruitment process?
5/5
I thought the recruitment process didn't really give me an idea of what working for the company would be like due to it being with an external recruitment company. Therefore, the role completely surpassed my expectations.
When considering the recruitment & onboarding process, have you any specific tips or advice you would give to others applying to JLR?
I would say a good tip is to thoroughly research the company as it is both a good opportunity to learn more about JLR's values and also to know whether JLR is the right fit for you.
