Overview of the Role

Overall, how would you describe your experience at CBRE Group?
My experience has been good - I have learnt a lot and been involved directly in a range of interesting and diverse projects. This has allowed me to develop significantly as a professional.
What are the main responsibilities of the role and which elements of the role do you enjoy the most?
My main responsibilities include undertaking financial viability assessments, economic impact assessments, contributing to funding applications, and producing technical representations. This involves data collection, synthesis and analysis, valuation, report writing, etc.
To what extent does your role give you the opportunity to contribute meaningfully and feel valued by your team?

I contribute meaningfully to my team through winning work and generating fees. I also contribute by leading team meetings and organising team events.
How does your compensation package - including perks & benefits - fairly remunerate you for the work you do?

I feel that the financial remuneration (i.e. base salary and bonus) poorly reflects the level, volume, and quality of work that I undertake.
I feel that the additional perks and benefits offered by the business are not particularly suited to my lifestyle at this current time, and these do not effectively outweigh the poor financial remuneration noted above.
How well do you feel the role is preparing you for your future career?

I feel the role is preparing me well as a professional, providing me with a well-rounded skillset and strong exposure to high-level clients and instructions. However, I feel that my current workload is restricting my ability to take advantage of opportunities to build my network outside of CBRE, which would be useful in my future career.
How would you rate the extent to which you were developing new or existing skills through formal training and your day-to-day role?

I am constantly developing and refining my skills throughout my day-to-day work. However, I feel that my workload limits my ability to take advantage of CPD / training / learning opportunities at times.

The support I receive is fine. My team and manager are very supportive and offer their time to help me
How is your work-life balance?

My work-life balance fluctuates. Overall, it is fine however there are times when I am required to work extensive hours to meet deadlines and achieve fees.
Often team socials are cancelled / rearranged / missed as a result of prioritising work.
What is the organisational culture, values and general atmosphere like?

Broadly, the culture is good - it is positive and oriented towards being the best in the business. However, sometimes I feel that CBRE's constant growth approach and drive to maximise share value creates a somewhat toxic culture where fees dominate all.
How would you rate CBRE Group initiatives when it comes to equality, diversity, inclusion and accessibility?

From my understanding they are good, however I have had limited personal exposure to them.
How would you rate CBRE Group CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) initiatives?

I am aware of some initiatives, such as frequent volunteering and charity events.
