Overview of the Role

Overall, how would you describe your experience at Savills?
Very good.
What are the main responsibilities of the role and which elements of the role do you enjoy the most?
My main responsibilities as a Graduate Building Surveyor include undertaking building surveys, preparing technical due diligence reports, dilapidations, schedules of condition, as well as assisting with project work such as specifications and contract administration. The role also involves liaising with clients, contractors, and colleagues across different teams to deliver clear, professional advice.
The elements I enjoy most are the variety of work and exposure to different types of properties and clients, as well as the opportunity to develop both my technical knowledge and professional skills. I particularly value working closely with colleagues on complex instructions, learning from their experience, and contributing to projects that have a visible, positive impact on buildings and clients.

Would you recommend Savills to a friend?
Yes
Why?
Yes – I would recommend Savills as it is a supportive place to work with a wide range of opportunities. The company offers exposure to interesting projects, strong professional development, and a collaborative culture. There is a good balance between responsibility and guidance, which makes it a great environment to learn and progress.
How well did the role match your expectations based on the recruitment process?

When considering the recruitment & onboarding process, have you any specific tips or advice you would give to others applying to Savills?
Be yourself and show genuine interest in the property sector and the work Savills does. Demonstrating enthusiasm, willingness to learn, and strong communication skills are just as important as technical knowledge. During onboarding, take the opportunity to ask questions and get to know colleagues, as building relationships early on really helps.
