Overall, how would you describe your experience at AstraZeneca?
This experience at AstraZeneca provided strong opportunities for developing my skillsets, both within wet-lab and data science/ML. AstraZeneca empowers scientists to continuously learn and upskill, where plenty of training courses and knowledge-sharing is encouraged.
What are the main responsibilities of the role and which elements of the role do you enjoy the most?
During my first placement, I was part of a high throughput screening team, utilising cutting-edge automation technology for immuno-oncology target identification. I thoroughly enjoyed the project and lab work involved, and felt supported to deliver impactful science.
My second placement involved working with novel machine learning tools, developed in-house. The project has enabled me to upskill in coding, build machine learning pipelines, and deliver high-throughput analysis for target prioritisation.
