Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
Providing Network Support to customers of the Meraki Line of products
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
Yes. It was not a "get me coffee" type of internship at all. A lot of responsibility and work that is a part of an actual Network Support Engineer's workflow.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
Yes. The internship deepened my knowledge of the Meraki "cloud-managed" approach of networks, something not touched on at university at all. It built a enormous amount of confidence through speaking to many many Network Engineers part of various other organizations.

Support and Guidance

How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
Great mentorship throughout the internship. Our mentor had weekly 1-on-1's to discuss our progress, project, doubts, achievements and everything else. It didn't feel like a mandated meeting, more like something you'd forward to. Also, the mentors were present everyday, so you always had someone to turn to.

Company Culture

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
Amazing colleagues. I can not understate how helpful everyone was towards the start phase of our internship; they would go out of their way to help answer our doubts. Towards the end too, a lot of them volunteered to try our prototypes of our project. Their feedback was immensely helpful.
