Overall, how would you describe your experience at Sellafield Ltd?
Great experience which has allowed me to shape the career I want, and helped me move forward in my chartership journey.
What are the main responsibilities of the role and which elements of the role do you enjoy the most?
There are 3 placements, one in a site facing role , a 'corporate' role and a secondment of choice. I've had experience of walkdowns, assurances, impact assessments, pollution inventory, combustion management, environmental monitoring, BNG and ecology assessments and more. The experience differs wildly from area to area.
To what extent does your role give you the opportunity to contribute meaningfully and feel valued by your team?

There is an expectation to volunteer a minimum of 10 hour per year which has allowed to to contribute to several nature based charities in my area. In addition, you are given the responsibility, and also support, to produce large meaningful packages of work.
How does your compensation package - including perks & benefits - fairly remunerate you for the work you do?

Upto 32.5 days holiday. Bonus scheme of upto 4k a year. Regular salary bumps and rises.
How well do you feel the role is preparing you for your future career?

How is your work-life balance?

Work stays at the door on the way out, allowing you to fully turn off at the end of the day. There is no expectation to take it home.

Why?
If you're from the area it is a no brainer to springboard you career. You're exposed to so many opportunities to make you employable. If you're not from the area but love the lakes and a quieter atmosphere then again, its a no brainer.
