Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
Gained hands-on experience in business operations, customer service, and sales within a fast-paced branch environment.
Supported day-to-day operations including rental process management, fleet control, and damage assessments.
Built strong customer service skills by assisting clients with reservations, returns, and resolving issues effectively.
Contributed to sales and business growth by promoting protection products, upgrades, and corporate rental accounts.
Developed teamwork, communication, and leadership skills by collaborating with colleagues to meet branch targets.
Learned about key business areas including revenue management, cost control, and performance metrics, preparing for a full-time Management Trainee role.
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
During my internship at Enterprise, I was responsible for supporting the daily operations of the branch, including assisting customers with rentals and returns, promoting protection products and upgrades, and helping manage the vehicle fleet. I gained experience in sales, customer service, and problem-solving while working towards branch targets, and developed strong teamwork and communication skills. The role also gave me exposure to business operations such as cost control, performance metrics, and revenue growth, preparing me for the Management Trainee programme.

Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
During my internship, I developed key customer service and communication skills by working directly with a wide range of clients, often in high-pressure situations. I strengthened my sales abilities by learning how to identify customer needs and confidently promote additional products and services. I also gained valuable business and operational skills, including fleet management, cost control, and understanding branch performance metrics. In addition, I improved my problem-solving, teamwork, and time-management skills by collaborating with colleagues to meet tight deadlines and branch targets.

Support and Guidance

How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
Throughout my internship I received strong support and guidance from both managers and colleagues. The branch team provided hands-on training from day one, with clear explanations of processes and opportunities to shadow experienced staff. Regular feedback helped me build confidence in customer interactions, sales techniques, and operational tasks, while managers were always approachable and willing to offer advice. This supportive environment allowed me to learn quickly, take on responsibility, and prepare for progression into the Management Trainee role.

Company Culture

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
The company culture at Enterprise was fast-paced, team-oriented, and supportive. There was a strong emphasis on collaboration, with everyone working together to meet branch targets and deliver excellent customer service. The atmosphere was professional yet friendly, with colleagues and managers encouraging each other’s development and celebrating achievements. This created a positive environment where I felt motivated to learn, take on responsibility, and contribute to the team’s success.

Overall Experience

To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
I really enjoyed my internship at Enterprise as it gave me the chance to take on real responsibility in a fast-paced, customer-facing environment. I liked the variety of the role, from building relationships with customers to managing operations and working towards sales targets as part of a team. The supportive culture and opportunities to learn made the experience rewarding, and it confirmed my interest in progressing to the Management Trainee role.

What advice would you give to others applying to Enterprise Mobility
My advice to others applying to Enterprise Mobility would be to go in with an open mind and be ready to learn. The role is fast-paced and hands-on, so adaptability and a positive attitude are key. Show enthusiasm for customer service and sales, as these are central to the business, and don’t be afraid to ask questions, managers and colleagues are very supportive and willing to help. Finally, treat the internship as a chance to develop your skills and demonstrate your potential, as strong performance can lead to great career opportunities within the company.
