Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
In my role, I’m responsible for managing damage claims from start to finish, which involves a mix of analytical work, communication, and decision‑making. On a day‑to‑day basis, I review incoming claims, assess the loss data and if the claim needs to be closed altogether. A large part of my job involves developing and assigning effective collection strategies. This means deciding which claims need focused attention to secure payment and when a case should be escalated to a third‑party vendor for additional recovery efforts.
I regularly communicate with a wide range of stakeholders including individuals, insurance companies, corporate clients and so on, to negotiate settlements and move claims toward resolution.
Professional written communication is another key aspect of my role. I often prepare and refine correspondence, brief reports, and other documentation, ensuring that everything is clear, accurate, and professionally presented.
Overall, the role requires balancing analytical judgement with strong communication and organisational skills.
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
Yes, I was given a significant amount of responsibility during my placement, which I really valued. From early on, I was trusted to handle real claims and contribute directly to the team’s work rather than just observing.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
Yes, I’ve definitely learnt new skills and developed the ones I already had throughout my placement. One of the biggest areas of growth has been my analytical skills. I’ve also improved my communication skills, both written and verbal. Writing reports, emails, and formal correspondence has also sharpened my attention to detail and my ability to communicate clearly. I’ve strengthened my decision‑making skills, knowing when to close a claim, when to escalate it, or when a settlement is appropriate. Being trusted with this level of autonomy has really boosted my confidence.

Support and Guidance

How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
I received a really good level of support and guidance throughout my placement. From the beginning, my team made sure I understood the processes, systems, and expectations, and there was always someone available to answer questions or talk through a claim if I was unsure. The training was structured but also flexible, so I could learn at my own pace while still being challenged. The support wasn’t just task‑based either. I also received encouragement around my development, understanding the career path within the department, and building the skills needed to progress.

The company culture and overall atmosphere were really positive and supportive. From the moment I joined, everyone was welcoming and willing to help, which made settling in much easier. The team works in a very collaborative way, people share knowledge freely, check in on each other, and genuinely want everyone to succeed. There’s a good balance between professionalism and friendliness, and you always feel comfortable asking questions or seeking guidance.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend Enterprise Mobility to a friend?
Yes
What advice would you give to others applying to Enterprise Mobility
My main advice for anyone applying to Enterprise Mobility is to be open‑minded, proactive, and ready to learn. It’s a company that really values people who take initiative and show genuine interest in developing their skills, so don’t be afraid to step forward, ask questions, and get involved.
Be yourself and let your personality show. Enterprise looks for people who can build rapport, communicate well, and bring positivity into the workplace. Skills can be trained, but attitude makes a huge difference.
Lastly, take advantage of the clear career progression. There’s a structured path in almost every department, and how quickly you develop is really down to you. If you’re motivated and willing to learn, there are plenty of opportunities to grow.
