Overview of the Role

Overall, how would you describe your experience at Savills?
I have had a great experience so far and have benefitted from a high degree of trust and autonomy in my role and managing my work. I have a supportive and encouraging team of colleagues and have had exposure to a wide variety of work giving me a broad grounding in valuation surveying.
What are the main responsibilities of the role and which elements of the role do you enjoy the most?
My role involves working within the Valuation team (Development Division) to provide clients with a professional, quality service in the provision of Valuation Reports and advice in respect of real estate assets, including residential and commercial property and development land/sites. Key responsibilities include: taking client instructions as to the purpose of the valuation and their requirements, ensuring sufficient information is gathered to provide an appropriate quote with a view to winning profitable instructions. Developing and maintaining good client relationships to encourage the use of Savills valuation services and other services within the wider business. Conducting the inspection and measurement of property/land and undertaking relevant market research, due diligence and analysis in order to inform the valuation process and produce accurate, high quality valuation reports. Adhering to relevant professional standards as appropriate to an RICS professional. I have particularly enjoyed inspecting a varying range of property types across a wide patch as well as many social events and networking opportunities the company offers.
To what extent does your role give you the opportunity to contribute meaningfully and feel valued by your team?
5/5
Due to the level of trust placed in my ability and support from my colleagues I have felt like a valued member of the team and have genuinely contributed to the divisions success.
How does your compensation package - including perks & benefits - fairly remunerate you for the work you do?
4/5
I have received a competitve graduate level basic salary as well as a bonus after only 6 months at the firm. There are various perks including client entertainment, conferences and work socials, as well as a pension scheme, medical scheme and a MyRewards discount and savings scheme.
How well do you feel the role is preparing you for your future career?
5/5
I feel that my role is well-suited to building my future career and also offers opportunities to expand my skills beyond what many other firms offer.
How would you rate the extent to which you were developing new or existing skills through formal training and your day-to-day role?
5/5
There are many opportunities to work with other teams and develop my skills with various online and in-person development courses.

Experience & Company Culture

How is the support you receive?
5/5
I have felt supported by my immediate manager/s and wider team who are approachable and generous with their time.
How is your work-life balance?
4/5
My work-life balance has generally been good, there have been some tight deadlines and pressure points which required working additional hours, but these have been relatively limited in their regularity and impact on my well-being.
What is the organisational culture, values and general atmosphere like?
5/5
A very encouraging, inclusive and accepting culture, with a degree of flexibility in terms of remote working.
How would you rate Savills initiatives when it comes to equality, diversity, inclusion and accessibility?
5/5
There are various schemes, support groups and working groups designed to foster a positive working environment no matter the employees background, including internal networks for those with disabilities, minority backgrounds, gender groups and a social mobility group.
How would you rate Savills CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) initiatives?

A very charitable firm at company level as well as at a more localised branch level, which tries to have a positive impact on the local communities it serves.
