Luxe Category Intern Review

The Luxe Category Summer internship offers a well rounded experience where there you work on a variety of projects for the team and provide new insight. This can be done through competitor tracking, data analysis and providing updates for our existing portfolio. The format of these projects vary from presentations, meetings and emails sent to a variety of agents within the company.

There was a lot of responsibility during this internship as the quality of the projects you are working on also reflect on the team you are with. However, at L'oreal no question is a stupid question and help is always provided when needed, so despite feeling like I had a lot of responsibility I still was aided through these projects and further grew my skills.

I have become more competent using Excel, data platform such as Circana and also data analysis from a commercial perspective. I also refined my presentation skills and communication as you learn how to work with a team during this internship, whilst still focusing on your own projects.

I received extensive training at the start of the internship, but throughout the whole internship I was still learning everyday, whether if it was new skills or different insights from different people throughout the whole company. L'oreal is a friendly and co-operative environment so it is easy to find support.

L'oreal is an extremely friendly and social place (in comparison to most corporate offices). Help is always there when its needed and it is a culture where you are always learning new things and thriving whilst working on growing the business. Despite the social positives it is important to remember that each team is hard working and it is still a fast paced environment where results are key.

I enjoyed it very much. At first I was not looking for a corporate internship, however this role has changed my mind and I think you learn a lot from it and enjoy coming into work.
