Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.

Worked on a client with the audit team. Completed Evidence Gathering Activities that were within a "trainee's level of experience". Received coaching from someone in the team and cracked on with the EGAs.

Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?

Little by little. I was given guidance on what tasks to complete and how. There was no micromanagement rather it was my responsibility to complete the work and update the team. Although support was always there in which I had to reach out to my team if I needed help.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?

Technical skills - PwC's Aura and Connect. Keyboard shortcuts on Excel to be more efficient. Developed teamwork and communication skills working with a small team. A lot of attention to detail to review and analyse information to determine if it were accurate or not.

Overall Experience

To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?

I would rate this experience 8/10. The people at PwC were very welcoming and it helped me a lot to settle in and be the best I can be. Coaching was great and not condescending at all! Client work was good, I did learn more about audit although due to my expertise I had to complete some tasks that were simple and repetitive - which I anticipated beforehand.
