Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
During my internship with Enterprise Mobility, my role primarily focused on supporting branch operations and gaining exposure to different areas of the business, from customer service to fleet management. On a day-to-day basis, I assisted with handling customer interactions—both in person and over the phone—by helping with reservations, rental agreements, and ensuring a smooth rental experience. I was also involved in inspecting vehicles before and after rentals, coordinating cleaning and maintenance schedules, and ensuring that the fleet was ready for customers.
In addition to operational tasks, I had the opportunity to learn about sales and business development by discussing rental options, upselling additional products and services, and observing how the team builds strong customer relationships. My role required strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills, and it gave me valuable insight into how Enterprise Mobility combines customer service excellence with efficient business practices.
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
Yes, I was given a good level of responsibility during my internship at Enterprise Mobility, which helped me feel like a valued member of the team rather than just an observer. I was trusted to interact directly with customers, manage rental agreements, and ensure vehicles were prepared to company standards. I also supported the team in resolving customer queries and handling situations where flexibility and problem-solving were required.
While there was always guidance and support available when needed, I was encouraged to take ownership of tasks and contribute to the smooth running of the branch. This balance of independence and mentorship gave me the confidence to develop my communication, organizational, and decision-making skills, and it showed me the importance of accountability in a fast-paced business environment.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
During my internship with Enterprise Mobility, I was able to develop several existing skills while also picking up new ones. My communication and customer service skills grew significantly through daily interaction with a wide range of customers, often in fast-paced or challenging situations. I also developed stronger problem-solving abilities by helping to resolve customer issues and finding solutions that balanced both their needs and business requirements.
On top of that, I gained practical experience in time management and organization by coordinating vehicle availability, inspections, and rental agreements. I also became more confident in sales techniques, such as upselling additional products and services, which helped me understand the balance between providing value to customers and contributing to business growth. Overall, the internship gave me both professional and interpersonal skills that will be valuable in any future role.

Support and Guidance

How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
I received a strong level of support and guidance throughout my internship with Enterprise Mobility. From the start, the team made sure I was introduced to the different aspects of the role and provided hands-on training to build my confidence. My colleagues and managers were approachable and always willing to answer questions or offer advice, which made it easy to learn and adapt quickly.
At the same time, I was given the independence to take on responsibilities and apply what I had learned, knowing that support was available if I needed it. This balance of guidance and autonomy not only helped me perform effectively but also encouraged me to develop my own initiative and problem-solving skills.

Company Culture

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
The company culture at Enterprise Mobility was very supportive, collaborative, and fast-paced. From my first day, I felt welcomed and included as part of the team, with colleagues always willing to offer guidance or share their experience. The atmosphere in the branch was energetic and customer-focused, with everyone working together to deliver a high standard of service while keeping operations running smoothly.
What stood out to me most was the balance between professionalism and camaraderie—while the work was demanding, the team created a positive and motivating environment where achievements were recognized and support was always available. This made it a great place to learn and grow, both professionally and personally.

Overall Experience

To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
I really enjoyed my internship with Enterprise Mobility as it gave me the chance to take on real responsibility, work closely with a supportive team, and gain practical experience in a fast-paced environment. I particularly valued the variety of the role—no two days were the same—which kept the work engaging and allowed me to develop a wide range of skills. The combination of professional development, customer interaction, and a positive team atmosphere made the experience both rewarding and enjoyable.

What advice would you give to others applying to Enterprise Mobility
My advice to others applying to Enterprise Mobility would be to go in with an open mind and a willingness to get stuck into all aspects of the role. The internship gives you exposure to a wide range of responsibilities, from customer service to operations, so being adaptable and proactive will help you get the most out of the experience. Strong communication skills, a positive attitude, and a genuine focus on customer service are really important, as the role is very people-oriented.
I would also encourage future interns to make the most of the support available—ask questions, learn from the team, and take initiative whenever possible. The more effort and enthusiasm you put in, the more rewarding and valuable the placement will be.
