Audit Summer Intern Review

My role required completing Evidence Gathering Activities to work on execution and completion phases of an audit. I worked on several different clients from different sectors which gave me a massive range of knowledge into the work required for an audit.

I was given a lot of responsibility throughout my internship. I was assigned several EGAs to complete myself by set times each day and completed multiple Audit Plans which were sent directly to clients. I found this very exciting and rewarding for my hard work.

I learned so many new technologies that were PwC specific which was very exciting and fun to learn about. I also learned how to check over my work to stop mistakes and things I could fix before sending to my buddy/team leader. I developed my team working skills and independent working skills which is very crutial for this type of job.

We were assigned a personal buddy and a shared career coach. My buddy helped me constantly, throughout the day to ensure I understood what was being asked of me and was able to complete the work correctly. My career coach answered all my questions about the possibility of a return offer and the ICAS exam process. They also put me in touch with anyone that could help me with work I was stuck on. It was so beneficial to me to have someone that is always happy to answer my questions.

The company culture was very kind and team focused. Everyone was very friendly in the office and always answered any questions I had. All the different teams I was assigned to would have team meetings and keep everyone in the loop, which I found very helpful. Everyone really seemed to want you to succeed and the environment was very supportive.

I enjoyed my internship so much and I would recommend it to absolutely everyone. My degree is not in this field at all, but this did not stop me from succeeding in this internship. Everyone is so supportive and I really enjoyed the work.
