Overview of the Role

Overall, how would you describe your experience at Sellafield Ltd?
My experience at Sellafield Ltd has been overwhelmingly positive. I have had a lot of support throughout the graduate scheme, as well as opportunities to learn many different aspects of chemical & design engineering in the nuclear industry while also being able to give back to the community through volunteering and being a STEM ambassador.
The work being done as a graduate is always changing and is highly engaging.
What are the main responsibilities of the role and which elements of the role do you enjoy the most?
For my role specifically (process design engineering graduate), there are 4 rotations of 6 months, which vary from graduate to graduate.
I spent my first role in a team where we performed different kinds of modelling. My second role was in a team solving real ongoing engineering problems with creative solutions and my third role was on-site preparing different kinds of process or engineering operations. I spent my fourth and last role in the plant facing design office, coming up with design solutions to emerging plant issues.
My placements and the work performed in them were all very different though they have all had very interesting and engaging tasks, which is what I enjoyed the most about my role.
