Overall, how would you describe your experience at Sellafield Ltd?
Really great company to work for. Lots of support and opportunities with everyone happy to show you around and teach you about different areas.
Lots of variation within the work and always pushing you towards your chartership for your institution.
Lots of other graduates and placement students so great community outside of work.

What are the main responsibilities of the role and which elements of the role do you enjoy the most?
4 x 6 month placements usually a construction, reliability and design placement with the final being your own choice.
To what extent does your role give you the opportunity to contribute meaningfully and feel valued by your team?

Working on projects that are implemented onto site so can see the full process and show how you’re making a difference.

Pay is exceptional in addition to 30 days annual leave a year. Low cost of living here also.

Pushing me towards my Chartership. Working in departments I’ll likely move into after my scheme ends.
How would you rate the extent to which you were developing new or existing skills through formal training and your day-to-day role?

Lots of trainings required which are very similar to each other and many site specific trainings required due to the radiological aspect.

Great support from once I was offered the job to even now while I’m still on the scheme.

How is your work-life balance?

Do start much earlier than other jobs (usually 07:30-15:30 or 08:10 - 16:10) but gives you the afternoon to do whatever you want.
What is the organisational culture, values and general atmosphere like?

Can work 2 days per week at home on the scheme. Very flexible in terms of work from home if speak to line manager.

Don’t participate in any myself but I’m aware there are many groups available and are promoted within the company.

Why?
The pay is exceptional for a graduate scheme and the amount you learn while being on site is amazing.
The facility itself is so fascinating and lots of history behind it. Feel like part of the team all with the goal to make the site safer for future generations.

When considering the recruitment & onboarding process, have you any specific tips or advice you would give to others applying to Sellafield Ltd?
Be yourself, lots of differing personalities etc within the company. Sellafield don’t want the same people they want new people with different ideas as a lot of the stuff we do is developing new solutions as it has never been done before.
