Overall, how would you describe your experience at Computacenter?
A very thorough grad scheme that provides a strong foundation for a role in tech sales. Challenging yet all of the support needed. The design of the scheme builds your skills quickly.
What are the main responsibilities of the role and which elements of the role do you enjoy the most?
The scheme mostly involved rotations around our liens of business, learning about our solutions, capabilities and go to market strategy. We were assessed throughout through a number of pitches and presentations to senior stakeholders. The exposure to new technology and advice around presenting and selling technique was most interesting.
To what extent does your role give you the opportunity to contribute meaningfully and feel valued by your team?

All of the opportunity exists within Computacenter. It is a case of making yourself available, putting yourself out there, and being open to developing your skills in a fast paced environment.

How well do you feel the role is preparing you for your future career?

I feel the scheme was a fantastic preparation. As I have transitioned into role, the skills and knowledge obtained are absolutely used on a daily basis.
How would you rate the extent to which you were developing new or existing skills through formal training and your day-to-day role?

Formal training and the role would sometimes merge together over the weeks, providing an opportunity to test your knowledge and skills in a real-life application. This made for a fast learning experience.

We have a broad support network of buddies, mentors, coaches and managers, plus a community of the broader team wanting to support. All are available to support when needed, whilst providing room for personal growth.
How is your work-life balance?

The hours are reasonable and I find that I have enough free time in the week.
What is the organisational culture, values and general atmosphere like?

A fun, lively atmosphere with plenty of opportunity to socialise. Some flexibility in home working, but mostly in-person.

Opportunity to get involved with charity initiatives, place a large emphasis on green practices. Have won numerous green awards.

When considering the recruitment & onboarding process, have you any specific tips or advice you would give to others applying to Computacenter?
Research the three core elements of what we do - source, transform, manage. Have structure around answers using the STAR method. Demonstrate key sales attributes, skills and qualities such as determination, problem solving, resilience etc.
