Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.

My role involved half the time spent on client work and the other half on technical work. This involved lots of excel based work for the technical tasks and work on drafting papers for the client team work. However, both the work for technical teams and client teams was very varied and I was exposed to a lot of different types of work. This was nice as I got experience in lots of different areas and each day was often quite different.

Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?

Yes I felt we were given meaningful and important work so that was nice. Also, the work was always checked and reviewed so it was a nice mix of responsibility but with support.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?

I would say its really helped me further develop my communication skills especially in a work setting. Everyday involves working lots with others which is really nice and helps to develop this quickly. Also, definitely time management skills as I often had to balance different deadlines whilst also completing a project on the side. In terms of more technical skills, I have learnt a lot more about using excel and different systems that the company have.

Support and Guidance

How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?

Lots and lots. This was something that was very very good. There was always someone to help when you needed it and everyone was very friendly so you could approach anyone asking for a hand with something. We also had intern buddy's who would always be there to help you and we would have regularly meetings to ensure everything was going smoothly.
