Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.

Worked with brokers in my team to gain further knowledge about the insurance industry and the role of a broker. I was given opportunities to shadow and work alongside people in my team, as well as individual projects.

Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?

Given my own projects to work on and real tasks, which were then gone through with me on a one-to-one basis.

I have developed my skills in excel and PowerPoint, as well as my communication and presenting skills. i have also learnt loads about the insurance industry and the different processes involved in placing a policy.

Support and guidance was provided but you had to actively seek it. My manager and connector were great but generally more support could have been given from the wider team.

To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?

I thoroughly enjoyed my time here, the people were all really nice and welcoming, there were lots off opportunities for learning and development, and the programme was well organised and structured to allow you to connect/develop connections with the other interns.
