Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.

Conducted archiving activities for Macclesfield Operations, essential for securely storing and managing documentation, records, and samples that are required by regulatory authorities to demonstrate compliance with industry standards, legal obligations, and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP).
Work with operations customers and offsite global archive providers such as Iron Mountain involving coordinating the secure storage, retrieval, and management of pharmaceutical records

Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?

Yes, this was my third summer in this role so my responsibilities were similar to that of those on the team full-time

Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?

Gained expertise in maintaining strict adherence to Good Documentation Practice (GDP), ALCOA principles (Attributable, Legible, Contemporaneous, Original, Accurate), and GxP standards in all record-keeping and sample management activities.
Gained expertise in RMA (Record Management Applications), inventory management systems, SAP to support robust tracking, reporting, and control of batch records and samples and EQV for documentation management.

Support and Guidance

How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?

I was on weekly team meetings with our team coordinator who I could raise any issues with and all of my colleagues are happy to help with any problems. My manager held monthly work groups with the wider team and I could go to her if I had any problems.
