Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?

yes, considering it was a first year summer internship. the bank is very unique in providing opportunities to 1st year university students, granting exposure across almost every front office desk + tasks on each of them. the experience is incomparable to any other bank.

Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?

doubled my knowledge across almost every aspect of front office banking roles. every member of the team is very patient in explaining and taking the time to mentor the interns, which helped immensely. everyone on the team is also very passionate about their roles, which helps a lot.

a lot of mentorship and guidance. the program was very flexible in terms of individual interests and needs - whether you wanted less / more guidance on certain tasks and the amount/ complexity of tasks to be worked on.

Company Culture

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?

very flat structure and extremely friendly. interns feel very welcomed and feel as part of the team immediately. there is a lot of company culture events that help you connect with everyone on the team, with addition to flexibility for individual networking /mentorhsip
