Learning about annuity products - set up, servicing, pricing. Supporting journey to modernise process of annuity applications and servicing. Reviewing workflow processes and logging. Mapping customer experiences. Collaborating with other departments.

Was involved in many different pieces of work but less individual responsibility.

Learned Verbal and written communication in a corporate environment.
Fluency in pensions products and investment strategies.
Developed scheduling and taking initiative.

Highly supportive team and line manager. Everyone was incredibly keen to help and teach me how the business operates or explain their role. Colleagues from wider business areas were equally as approachable and supportive - always willing to take time out their schedules to meet and show me what they do.

As mentioned in support and guidance, culture values across the group are clearly evidenced. Genuine supportive atmosphere and kind, patient colleagues.
Personally did not particularly like the significant emphasis on working from home and lack of office attendance, often made it harder to form closed connections with colleagues (despite their friendliness) as there was little face-to-face interaction - especially prominent consideration as a short term placement worker.

My internship was enjoyable but lack of human interaction definitely detracts. Would of also been very useful to have greater emphasis on connecting other interns (events, in-person learnings, social opportunities) - there were no other interns/graduates seated around me or within my team meaning I had to make very conscious effort to meet them.
