Overview of the Role
Overall, how would you describe your experience at AstraZeneca?
Have the opportunity to complete a wide variety of different rotations across the business, they are very diverse and cover all functions. This is very good as it gives me lots of relevant experience to get a job post program.
What are the main responsibilities of the role and which elements of the role do you enjoy the most?
I have currently competed two roles, and have two more to go. But for role 1 i was involved in the sterility assurance in manufacturing of one of AZs best selling sterile products that is only manufactured in Macclesfield, UK. I was responsible for ensuring sterility assurance across the manufacturing process through training, process improvements and equipment and process validation/qualification. This was an opportunity not many get to see first hand the scale and complexities of manufacturing. I am currently now in supply chain, a complete new area allowing me to see what happens post manufacturing and how drugs are delivered to the market. This is a really rewarding opportunity as i get to directly send medicines to people who need it most, knowing i am making a difference.
To what extent does your role give you the opportunity to contribute meaningfully and feel valued by your team?

I am solely responsible for the supply chain of a clinical trial (with help always when needed).

I think the pay could be slightly higher, or increase each year as we become more experienced.

Each team within AZ completes 2 volunteering exercises in the year to aid the local community and charities. On Campus there are also a large number of charity events and awareness events that take place each month.
