Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.

My internship mainly consists of placement work within one of the D&A teams, as well as an intern project with all of the D&A interns within my location. Whilst the days can vary, a typical day can involve a stand-up meeting and working on placement/project work.

Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?

Yes, I was given responsibility in both my placement and project work as I was working with real bank data to complete tasks.

How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?

I received a lot of support throughout my internship. The bank culture is very collaborative so people are usually happy to help out or answer any questions you have. My buddy was also very supportive in answering any general questions about the internship.

Company Culture

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?

The bank has a very friendly culture where you are encouraged to reach out to people within different areas of the bank and people are often very happy to chat about their work with you. The bank is also big on wellbeing and ensuring you have a healthy work life balance.

Overall Experience

To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?

I really enjoyed my internship! There was always something to do but wasn't too overwhelming at the same time, and I was able to gain a lot of knowledge about working in a data role at the bank.
