Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
Personal Guarantees Team, a transformational team. This means liaising with stakeholders across the bank, from credit to mail hub personnel to set up a notification mechanism, beginning to notify customers of their obligations. This also means preparing and socializing comms packs for frontline colleagues to help them deal with any queries that may come in regarding personal guarantees.
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
Yes, had a lean team, set up specifically for the programme. No previous BAU in our field meant lots of responsibility and runway for initiative

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
Very respectful, shifting away from years of modesty towards growth and new ambition following privatization earlier in the year. Lots of exciting developments grounded in a fundamentally kind and supportive environment - contrasting many firms on the street

Very much - while my specific team was niche and perhaps not indicative of a broader career in banking, I gained a thorough understanding of the wider bank

Well worth the recruitment cycle - retention rates between internship and full-time return offers are north of 80% which is so much better than the vast majority of firms in financial services
