Technology Analyst Review

I was part of the XMC Engage team, a basic overview of my day to day life was morning scrum meetings at 10 oclock to discuss what was done previously and what everyone was going to do. I would proceed to discuss work with a group member i was working with on Tech Con project for an app demo to present to the public. Then in the evenings i would continue to work on my Jira tickets.

During my placement with the XMC Engage team, I was given significant responsibility. I was responsible for independently progressing my assigned Jira tickets throughout the evenings. This structure allowed me to contribute actively to team projects, manage individual tasks, and engage in direct project development, highlighting a substantial level of responsibility.

As a Technology Analyst specializing in software engineering, my placement significantly enhanced both my new and existing skill sets. I gained comprehensive knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), understanding its various phases and methodologies and java skills. Beyond technical growth, I actively networked at various events within Citi, which expanded my professional connections. Furthermore, continuous collaboration within my team played a crucial role in significantly developing my teamwork and communication skills.

During my placement, I received a significant amount of support and guidance. Both my team members and HR manager were consistently helpful and accessible; I could contact either of them at any point for information or assistance. Furthermore, I engaged in daily calls with my team members to discuss ongoing work, ensuring continuous guidance and collaborative problem-solving. This consistent access to support channels and regular communication fostered a well-supported learning and working environment.

The company culture and general atmosphere were characterized by a friendly, approachable, and insightful environment. There was a clear emphasis on fostering positive relationships, not only within teams but also among colleagues. This supportive atmosphere extended to making connections, as evidenced by the ease of forming friendships with other placement students. Overall, the workplace encouraged open interaction and provided a welcoming space for learning and collaboration.

my placement was thoroughly enjoyable.
