Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
As a data analyst/scientist, I worked on various tasks around the business (I was part of the Rooster Money team) from dashboard harmonisation, to business analysis (through telling a story with the data), to shadowing data engineers and creating various dummy models to develop my ML skills.
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
I felt that I had a high sense of responsibility and independence during my internship as I was provided with a lot of tasks that stretched my limits, but also within a comfortable range. I was assigned a few of my own tickets throughout the sprints I participated in and reported back during stand ups independently.

Lots! There was a lot of support and points of contact throughout the internship. This allowed me to never feel alone or be unsure of things at any point. Also, colleagues were very helpful too and very opening to answering questions.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
Warm, family-like. Everyone is supportive and there was a diverse culture and background seen throughout the office- it was great to learn about everyone's previous experiences and easily get a coffee chat whenever I wanted!

11/10. Being my first corporate internship I have done, I had an amazing experience and felt very relaxed throughout the internship as I always knew that the support was there if I were to need it.

What advice would you give to others applying to NatWest Group
Be yourself. Learn their behaviours and reflect on your own experiences. Think about how you have made an impact in the past and how it has benefitted the wider party and yourself. Always think about areas where you and your peers can develop, e.g. hosting your own group study sessions as it reflects their 'winning together' mindset - which is what they strongly look for at the bank.
