Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.

1st line risk management - Managing the controls of the bank - outsourcing/TPRM framework policies. TFRM, supervision of the trade floor

Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?

Yes - I had the opportunity to attend committees that were being held each month, Managed TPRM portfolio, supervised trade floor trades and operations. Had the opportunity and was encouraged to meet as many senior managers 1-1 as I could fit in the 10weeks

An extremely welcoming company culture, the bank is an excellent place to work for young people looking to get experience of well experienced banking professionals

I extremely enjoyed my placement - I would highly reccommend all college students looking to go into banking to take the placement in Scotiabank and get a feel for what the industry is like
