Human Resources Intern Review

As a HR Intern I worked within one of the departments within the people team throughout the entire internship. I was expected to be in the office 2+ days a week. I spent my days working on my business project with the other HR interns, working on my team based project, and getting involved in team specific work with my manager and other team members.

I had the opportunity to plan a bank wide festival which will take place early next year. I also got to work on a project to improve an online platform within the bank. I had a lot of responsibility, and I fully believe that my perspective and hard work is valued.

I have learnt a wide range of skill which I will carry with me for the rest of my career; both HR specific skills, and more general professional skills. The skills I have developed most include workplace etiquette, presentation skills, leadership, and agile methodologies, just to name a few.

I recieved excellent support throughout my internship. I was paired with a graduate buddy who scheduled weekly check-in's with me to answer any questions I may have. My line manager has been super supportive, and has made such an effort to check in with me daily and make sure I am comfortable with all my work. All other colleagues have been very helpful, and happy to help with anything I might need.

The culture and atmosphere at Natwest is very friendly. Everyone is very supportive, and has been very welcoming. There is a culture of building relationships with colleagues which definitely makes the atmosphere in the office very friendly.

I could not rate my internship any higher. I have had an excellent time and this has been an amazing opportunity. I feel like I have kickstarted my career which has made me very excited for what's to come, and I hope to come back and work within Natwest in the future.
